Custom Railing Designs for Houston Properties
Custom railings add safety, style, and value to your Houston or Pearland property. Whether you need interior stair railings, exterior deck railings, or commercial-grade handrails, custom fabrication ensures a perfect fit and unique design that mass-produced options can't match.
Popular Railing Styles
Traditional Iron Railings
Classic scrollwork, picket, and basket-twist designs. Hand-forged iron railings are the signature style for River Oaks and Bellaire homes. Timeless elegance that never goes out of style. Available in straight, curved, and spiral configurations.
Modern Horizontal Bar Railings
Clean, parallel horizontal bars in steel or aluminum. This contemporary style dominates new construction across Sugar Land, Missouri City, and modern Houston developments. Powder-coated in black, bronze, or custom colors.
Cable Railings
Stainless steel cables tensioned between metal posts for unobstructed views. Ideal for pool decks, elevated decks, and rooftop terraces. The cables virtually disappear, creating a floating effect. Most popular in League City waterfront properties and Memorial contemporary homes.
Glass Panel Railings
Tempered glass panels in metal frames for maximum visibility. Premium option for elevated decks, balconies, and modern architecture. Wind protection without blocking the view.
Mixed-Material Railings
Combining wood top rails with iron balusters, or metal posts with cable infill. These custom combinations create unique looks tailored to your home's style.
Applications
- Interior staircases: The focal point of your entryway — custom railings set the tone for your home
- Front porch and entry steps: First impression + safety. Code-required for steps with 3+ risers
- Deck perimeter railings: Required for decks 30+ inches above grade in Texas
- Balcony railings: Safety and aesthetics for second-story spaces
- Pool area railings: Must meet Texas pool barrier code with self-closing gates
- Commercial ADA-compliant handrails: Specific diameter and height requirements for commercial properties
Code Requirements
Texas building code requires railings on any deck, porch, or stairway 30 inches or more above grade. Railings must be 36 inches minimum height for residential (42 inches for commercial). Baluster spacing cannot exceed 4 inches. We ensure every railing meets or exceeds code requirements.
Our Fabrication Process
Every railing is custom welded in our Pearland shop based on precise field measurements. We template each installation to ensure a perfect fit — especially important for curved staircases and irregular deck shapes. All railings are powder-coated for Houston weather resistance before installation.
