Cedar Privacy Fence with Matching Gate in Friendswood, TX

Full cedar privacy fence with a built-in matching gate and dog-ear pickets — replaced a leaning wood fence at a Friendswood home.
Project Overview
This cedar fence project was completed by the Forged Fence & Deck crew in Friendswood, Texas during April 2026. Every job we take on in the Greater Houston Metro is planned around Gulf Coast conditions — clay soil movement, humidity, coastal wind loads, and heavy seasonal rain — so the finished product holds up long after installation day.
The old fence at this Friendswood property was pulling out of the ground and rotting at the base. We tore it out, set new steel posts in concrete, and built a fresh cedar privacy fence with an integrated matching gate so the whole run looks like one continuous line.
Highlights:
- 6 ft cedar privacy fence, dog-ear pickets
- Matching gate framed with pressure-treated 2x4s
- Steel posts set 2 ft in concrete
- Full old-fence teardown and haul-off
Friendswood soil moves the same way Pearland's does — steel posts and concrete are the difference between a fence that lasts 6 years and one that lasts 20+. Free estimate available in the Friendswood / Alvin / League City corridor.
Why Cedar Fence Matters in Friendswood
Built for Gulf Coast Weather
Friendswood sees heavy rain, hurricane-force wind events, and expansive clay soils. Every post on this project was set in concrete to keep the structure plumb through wet/dry cycles.
Local Materials & Methods
We spec materials that perform in Friendswood — pressure-treated lumber, galvanized hardware, cedar rated for humidity, and powder-coated steel where corrosion is a factor.
